About

Laura Pappa is a graphic designer based in Amsterdam working mainly in the cultural field. She received bachelor’s degrees from the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and a master’s degree from the Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem. Her clients include Kunstverein Toronto, Museum of Estonian ArchitectureBaltic Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, project space ROZENSTRAAT and publisher Valiz, among others. Together with Elisabeth Klement she runs Asterisk Summer School, an annual graphic design summer programme based in Tallinn and in 2017 the two curated the exhibition Signals from the Periphery at the Tallinn Art Hall. She teaches at the KABK (Royal Academy of Art) in the Hague. Next to graphic design, she occasionally writes and works with glass.

Signals from the Periphery was an international graphic design event that took place at the Tallinn Art Hall in Estonia. The project brought together urgent developments in graphic design with a focus on practices that extend the field.
